In the Community, For the Community: Shacks Motor Group Donates $12,500 to WA’s Volunteer Fire & Rescue Heroes
At Shacks Motor Group, one of our core guiding pillars is a simple but powerful promise: in the community, for the community.
Earlier this season, the devastating Warnbro fires hit incredibly close to home. We saw firsthand how deeply they impacted our local customers, our colleagues, and our own staff. Watching our community face that danger left us inspired—and determined—to find a meaningful way to give back to the heroes who run toward danger when we need them most.
Driven by Leadership, Backed by Community
Turning that inspiration into real-world impact required a collective effort, spear-headed by the exceptional leadership teams across our four premium brands. Recognizing the urgency of the cause, our dealer principals and brand managers united behind a single mission: to mobilize our dealerships for the greater good.
Throughout February, March, and April, under the guidance of our leadership team, Shacks Motor Group pledged to set aside $50 from every single new vehicle sold across all four brands- Mazda, Geely, GMSV and Volkswagen.
Thanks to our incredible customers who chose to buy local during those months—and the tireless dedication of our teams ensuring every sale counted—we were absolutely thrilled to pool together a sizeable $12,500 donation.
A Night of Celebration and Gratitude
On Wednesday, June 17, we had the absolute privilege of hosting the Rockingham Kwinana Chamber of Commerce After Hours event right here at our Smeaton Way Automotive Superhub. It provided the perfect, warm community backdrop to officially hand over the cheque.
We would like to extend our special thanks and recognition to the incredible representatives who joined us to accept the donation:
- Tim Sonsee, Executive Officer, on behalf of the Volunteer Fire & Rescue Services Association of WA (Inc)—an organisation that has proudly represented WA’s FRS Volunteers since 1898.
- Brett Treeby, a dedicated member of the Kwinana VFRS and our Metropolitan Zone Secretary.
- Craig Waters AFSM, Department of Fire and Emergency Services Deputy Commissioner.
